WSCB were awarded the contract to completely restore a large roof on an 18th Century, Grade II Listed, National Trust working farm nestled in the South Downs. The work was carried out over the winter months, so care had to be taken to protect the accommodation below, whilst the work was completed. The timbers, after inspection by the surveyor, were found to be beyond repair and required complete replacement. All the main tie beams were Douglas Fir which were sourced locally from a reputable supplier and from a sustainable source. Exact dimensions and design details were replicated from the original roof to satisfy the Building Surveyor’s specific historical requirements. All works were carried out by our own highly skilled tradesmen and completed on time and to budget.
